Door lock problem

I have replaced the pass door lock actuator twice and it still doesn't work
It locks but doesn't unlock and that condition has been the case in all 3 lock actuators which is leading me to believe it's not the actuator and something else?
Thoughts?

i had an old DI and my brother has a DII with the same issue on many of the doors. The actuators dont push back far enough to truly unlock the door. I never really came up with a good solution though, you could stick the key in to get them to unlock far enough. but yea, still a pain....any good solutions I would definitely be interested to hear.
