Door locked shut - won't open

What a great resource! Grateful to discover this community of fellow rover lovers.

Passenger door will not open. Inside handle has been inoperable for a while...cable corroded and broke. But now the outside handle won't open it either. I don't know if the locking mechanism is the problem, or the handle. I can't open the door to take off the panel. Help, please!

What vehicle are we speaking of and what year...

If this is for a Rover, you can download the RAVE in my signature and it will give you a break down of the door and how things go together... if this is for some other vehicle.... not sure what we can do.
