What if you stuck it on your dashboard when you parked?

If you remove the plate later, and want to return to a stock look, just fill the holes with paint matched bumper plugs.

They'll match you paint color, and look great when fitted

I noticed that there is a license plate bracket for the range rover a-frame.

Part no: VUB500670

Has anyone tried to see if that fits?

VUB500670 supercedes to DRB100390, anyway, they are both essentially flat plates that have indented (outdented?) areas to put screwws into the bumper, then you mount the plate flat to that. You esssentially end up with the plate floating a little over the surface of the A-bar or bumper. Still you end up putting screws in the bumper cover.
FWIW.
