All new engines should have the oil replaced at between 100 and 300 miles to remove residual casting sand from the engine. This new oil should not be synthetic so that the engine parts properly wear together to reduce oil usage. At 1500 miles, replace intermediate oil with synthetic. You now have a properly broken in engine.
Make sure you use same brand oil to have matching chemistries.
By the way, engine speed for the first 500 miles should vary significantly to also allow piston rings to seat properly. This means coasting from 60 mph down to 40 mph and then accelerating back up to coast down again.

The 'Quikie Oil' change shops are the ones that drilled into our heads the 3000 mile oil change... Not the manufacturers... Why? They sell more oil changes!!
My dad put 350000 miles on a BMW taking it in every 7500ish miles. He got rid of it when the power windows would not stay up and the driver’s seat keep collapsing! It went through two trannys and two diffs but the engine was still strong at the end.
If it made a difference, the automakers would mandate it as a condition of warranty.

That being said, it will not hurt anything to change before the manufacturer's recommendation. But, it is a waste of money.
LR says 7500 unless hauling loads in hot dusty conditions... Like off roading in the Sahara!

Our Disco3 engines are also run on a test stand the equivalent of 500 miles at varying angles up to 45 degrees before installation.
