For those who ordered LR4s - Should I Worry About Price Increase?

For those of you who have ordered an LR4 I have a couple of questions:

• Do you have a signed contract including the price?
• Should I be concerned about a price increase on my order? (It is scheduled to arrive in June.)

Right now all I have is a copy of the order form (it is all correct and includes dates) and an email from my salesperson indicating the price (essentially MSRP).

I am just worried that I should have something more official/formal and/or that when I go to pay for and pick up my truck in June they will tell me there was a price increase and I'm stuck.

Should I be concerned?

When I ordered my 2013 I was told that they could not finalize a price until they received the vehicle paperwork once it arrives. I did make sure that I had an absolute maximum price in writing - a figure they would not go above. In the end, I knew the max price, and then upon arrival they worked with me on the sale price.

Luckily I ended up getting it for $2,500 below my max price.

When you say that you "made sure that I had an absolute maximum price in writing" what form did that take? Was it a gentleman's agreement? An official form signed by you and them?

I have pretty much the same thing as you. I have the MSRP at the time of order in writing. I also negotiated a savings under MSRP that I have in writing. I did agree to pay whatever the MSRP is when the car arrives minus my "discount", so in the unlikely event that there is a price increase in the MSRP then I will end up paying a little more.

I don't recall Land Rover ever increasing MSRP in the midst of a model year. Generally, once announced prices don't change until the next model year is introduced. Only exception would be if new packages or options are introduced (MY2014.5, etc.)

Yeah, the only reason I can see my price changing is if I add or remove options or change color before my build date.

I had an e-mail chain from the sales manager.

Thanks, Guys! That is what I needed to hear. I haven't worked with this dealer before and I haven't ordered a vehicle before. The process has seemed a bit "loose" to me. All of this helps.
