It happened pretty much whenever I pushed down on the accelerator and also a few times that I let up on it. Just yesterday I did find a tranny out of a 2002 with 64,000 miles for $700. I'm probably going to go ahead and purchase it but a little anxious as the warranty is only for 30 days.

That sounds bad, no wonder you thought it wouldnt make it. 700 doesnt sound too horrible with 64k on it, I would'nt be too weary.

I greased everything up the other day and it seams to be gone for now alltho I havent tried hard to make it happen again. I'll keep my fingers crossed for my trip.

Keep in mind the D2 does not have grease fittings, the D1 does.... big mistake on the Land Rover Tech dept if you ask me.

Ouch!

How can you not!?!?!?!
I was suprised that I only found 6 (unless I missed some!). I can remember on an old Land Cruiser I had there were at least 10 if I remember correctly.
Not a good idea to skimp on that part

Cost effectiveness, it is cheap to buy non-greaseable units. Also the average person doesn't take proper care of a vehicle, so non-greaseable means it shouldn't need attention.

Of course putting the same non-greaseable U-joint next to the Cats with all that heat.... well you get the picture.
