Fuel Filter Location

2000 DII 4.0 V8 gas
Does anyone know the location of the fuel filter? I've gone through the workshop manual and only see one for the diesel.

you are correct, the D2 does not have a filter unless it is diesel...

The D1 has one next to the frame by the passenger rear tire.

wow so DII's dont have a filter. how is that possible?

Ok, they do have a pre-fuel pump screen, but I will not call that a filter, cause the D1 has the same thing, but they have a real filter. If I ever bought a D2, one of the first mods would be to add a fuel filter.

OK, I have an 01 DII, and my wife ran the thing damn near out of gas. I used some we keep for our generator, I don't know how old. Now the thing stumbles like a drunken sailor, and the check engine light is flashing. I figure the fuel had some condensation in it, so how do I clear this problem, if there is no fuel filter?

Dry gas (this is the product name) and a full tank of premium fuel.
