'94 Disco V8i, ~100K miles.

Disco left me stranded yesterday.

Hiccuped twice, then nothing.

After coasting to the shoulder, I noticed the fuel gauge was pinned all the way high. Way above full. Ignition on or off, same thing.

Now I'm pretty sure Disco's normally have the fuel gauge read completely empty with the ignition off, and go up when the ignition is turned on.

So, armchair mechanics, what's the problem?

As a bonus hint, the local dealer did my fuel tank recall a few weeks ago... and I don't believe in coincidennces!

Bad ground, or the arm on the pump is stuck

I would check the relays first. Happened to me and I almost bought a new pump when I finally found out it was only the relay. Also Ive heard of the connecting wire shorting out. Good Luck.
