cool, thanks. how hard is it to remove the lighter body and get to the wiring behind it?
Honestly, they aren't easy to remove. The plastic tabs are pretty hard to activate with the whole center console intact. But remove four screws and you can pull out the panel that supports those from the center console. Still not easy, but it's easier.

For the wiring, it depends on what you're doing. If you just want to wire the existing fixtures, all you need do is to cut the connector off and put some female spade terminals on it. I wired one to the existing wiring, and the other I wired to the secondary battery, which is a LiFePo on my vehicle. Idea being that I could use that LiFePo to charge phones, etc. with the ignition off without worrying about hurting a battery.
