Too expensive. You could get a 36,000 mile 2006 HSE for that much (buy mine), or at least a similar CPO SE7. CPO is not same as full factory coverage, be informed.

In december 08 I picked up a 2006 SE (went into service 3/06) Bonatti/Ebony 7 seater with nav, pdc, xenon 26,800 miles with the CPO for $2500 less than your price (no cold climate package--but then again I'm in California). I'd say that's at least a grand too expensive. I'd start with $23,000 out the door---and then walk out on them and wait for the phone call back.

Folks, the used car market is the only sector with action these days. Used car pricing has gone up, with LR3 up about 10% at auction sales. Remember, a huge tsunami of off-lease 2006 models deflated wholesale pricing just as the credit markets failed a few months back, and now prices seem to be higher than they were in October. Then, 06 SE7 models with good miles were as low as 19000 wholesale, but now they're all closer to 21000+ or so easily.

It looks like a nicely equipped LR3.

Just remember that $25,900 is an asking price. They will take less. Make an offer based on the current market of similar vehicles, and you should be fine. $23K is a good start.

Considering that I paid $54K + tax for a brand new HSE in 2005, these low $20's prices are painful to discuss

Yeah, they're painful alright....but I've enjoyed being an original owner and especially that first year enjoyed the exclusivity of having an LR3 on the street, especially an HSE.

...I'm stupid like that. I buy cars new and keep them for 10 years.

The price is high, but not out of line for a dealer to ask. As for the repair list, don't sweat it, I have pages and pages of warranty repair orders on my Toyota... but it's because I'm picky and things have to be 100% right. After three years its finally all straightened out. The cars you need to worry about are the ones that have no repair history or record of major recurring issues.

The consistent need for air compressors may be due to a leak in the system thus running the compressor more frequently. Just a guess.

It has been very helpful in my search for an LR3.

I bought my 06 HSE from LR Harrisonburg 6 months ago. I love it. They gave me an excellent deal, no haggling. The CARFAX report showed it was a lemon/buyback, but it has been fantastic so far I have added 7K miles to the 14K I bought it with. Based on my experience, the price sounds high. But mine was cheaper because the CARFAX report was flawed, but I'm convinced the car was/is not flawed.
