Hey Ryan,
have you tried this:
- turn off engine, apply P on shifter, apply foot on foot brake keep it that way all time then push and hold EPB level down .turn ignition ON to position II, wait for system check( few chimes) then start engine. Now you can release EPB switch.Or did you lifted rubber tray and pull release stirrup cable end ,attach a jack handle to the cable loop and pull to release the parking brake? It should work

I got the back end up on the hi-lift and beat on the offending disk (hub section) with a dead blow hammer and finally got it to release. (Combo of the cable loop in the center console and the epb release switch.
Now that I am home maybe I can figure out the problem......
Thanks
Ryan

I was on the Naches Trail. I had fun and only came out with minor damage - I slid into a tree on the rear door handle. It put a couple of slight dimples in the metal around it but not really noticable at first glance. Really recommend some RS opt 2's on this trail....

I haven't been out there myself (various schedule conflicts) but the club I belong to up here hits that area and the surrounding Manastash area once a year typically. I was just out at Lake Cle Elum TODAY too...not far north from where you were.

Sliders are next on my wish list, then a gas tank skid. I have the sidesteps and I re-enforced them with skid plates. They aren't sliders but they've taken some punishment for me.

This manual emergency EPB does not work all the times, indeed.Few months a go i was on my way to New Orleans. Suddenly , In the middle of nowhere hear strange roar from the back of my car.Initially , I thought they DIFF.failed ,but there was no metallic sound to it , only grinding roar.Thankfully,it happened near one of the exits on ITS 78 in PA,but I don't even remember which one ,since it was snowing that day badly( big,big snow storm),so i stopped safely of the highway, got out of the LR3 and started examine diff and wheels.Snows like crazy,11 pm,pitch dark and me with ..reliable flashlight.Rotors and hubs hot as hell so I suspected E-breaks jammed.Started manual emergency relapse, not knowing yet then, about electronic cheat procedure, but honestly don't know if it works or not, although guys from British site say, it is bulletproof .No positive results. So i called roadside assistance, paid towing, since out of warranty, and next day , spending night at hotel in Allentown, repair in nearby dealer and... 700.00 dollars later, I was back on the road with new brake shoes.Good thing was that 500 $ worth of cold cuts on the back of my car did not get spoiled, after all, it was very cold that night. Also rotors turned out to be warped to from the heat generated by jammed EPB shoes, but that is another story.

I didn't know about either of these...

Where exactly is the cable? Can someone take a picture of it?
Nice to know there is a manual cable release in addition to the electronic in an emergency.
Maybe this is all in the manual. I never looked for this feature.

Sorry neither of them worked for you.

What club do you wheel with? I was out with the NW Overland Society on this run but I am also a Pacific Coast Rover Club member...
