Compared to the air suspension on my Audi allroads, ours are rock solid. The lifespan for the allroad air springs was about 75K miles. Not many posts here yet regarding air spring or compressor failures. Seems like the LR3 had more frequent compressor failures than the LR4.

Oh man, not a even a comparison to our Audi Allroads. Just replaced two front air shocks ... again. '04 2.7T

I think the one comparison you can see is that all of us that had the original A6-based allroad didn't like the A4-based "smallroad" and tried to keep our allroads running forever. Same with the D5 replacing the LR4. We will try to keep our LR4's going forever.

spoke to a dad at my kids soccer game - they have 2 2010 LR4s, each with 175k miles. hasnt had to do a timing chain on either but said the water pump every couple years is driving him crazy on both cars.

Gonna hit 40k on my 15 LR4 LUX with HD here soon.

Makes me sad, but plenty of those miles have been off-road which makes me happy. Just ordered a prospeed rack/ladder and accessories. Both worried and excited about how they will look in person. I feel like the car right now with my compos and KO2s looks like just the right combo of luxury and off-road utilitarian.

Will definitely look like more of an off-road vehicle, but also be a lot more capable of more adventures.
