Hi, Would really appreciate any help with these two items. First whats up with the faulty hubs? I have already replaced one and now need the other front one replaced. It is a 2003 Discovery with approx 55,000 miles. Was there a recall? I have never had a car that needed hubs replaced. All my lights are on in the dash. The tech told me that not only is the hub gone but the computer indicated that the abs brake modulator is gone and a new one is $2000. I did a little research and found that there is a relatively inexpensive kit that could fix the modulator. Any opinions? I love my discovery but it is becoming a nightmare!

For $2000 you should be able to rebuild all 4 hubs and ABS sensors... as well and change the brakes to high end stuff.

If it is the 3 amigos, then it is probably the ABS shuttle valve, $100 or less and about 2 hours work.

What happened to the hub I must ask?

Granted I have a 95 D1 and picked up a spare front and rear hubs with bearings and axle tube stubs from Pick N Pull for $40 as spares plus to mount and spin balance my own wheels. Static then dynamic balance with a "shoe", ya got to be old to remember them. Bearings and seals are cheap unless a disc and pads upgrade were added.
