Has anyone done this? I'm looking for a battery that would fit in that empty space in the plastic box under the hood on the drivers side. It is "battery sized" and mostly empty.
I mainly just want it for starts if the main battery drains, but would have to figure out some way to keep it charged and I guess use it once in a while so it doesn't go bad due to lack of use.
The other option is one of those jump boxes they sell. In that case I need some place to store it in the vehicle. I have no bins that would fit it that I know of. So heck, even if a jump box would fit in the "spare battery space" that would be cool!
I was hoping there is already a solution out there that is used for audiophiles with big amps or some other purpose. I'm just hesitant to go too far off the beaten path with this for a long trip and worry about the battery draining too fast if I happen to leave the keys in the ignition or something turned ON. But there are already enough threads discussing the excessive battery drain when the engine is off...
Thanks!
