In my case, I purchased from Land Rover Denver. So I found the best Land Rover shop in the area near the dealer, @roadsidewerx, and their Disco expert went over and performed all the inspections for me. That dealer also offered a 72hour return after driving off the lot. So after closing, I had the sales guy take it back to Roadside Werx so they could get it on a lift asap and confirm it was a good one. They did that and gave a clean bill of health. Then it was loaded on a truck and delivered two days later!! Can’t say enough about the crew at Roadsidewerx. Jordan was super responsive.

CRYA, that was a late fall purchase also a perfect time of the year to of flown to Denver and had a nice drive home getting familar with your LR. Vacation over, kids back in school or rather home study, fall colors before snow. An easy two day drive across some pretty country......~~=o&o>......

Hey all, just passed my Ham technician class and reading up here on setups. I have zero radio experience. Never played with a CB, though I did have a Motorola walkie-talkie for skiing. Anyways, I've seen a few people recommend the Baofeng and Kenwood. Can I get some guidance on what you all are running? Looks like the small Kenwood is discontinued but I've read it's the simplest/most basic to use, which is what I'm about. Not looking to create a ham shack. Lemme know!

I just got a refurb Icom ID-5100a that seems to work well. I tried a cheapy Baofeng from Amazon and ended up returning it: too small a display made me utterly dependent on a laptop. Even so, get something where you can program the memory slots from your computer, whichever kind you have. Lots of love for PC's in that space, not so much for Macs.

What vendor you recommend? Yeah I see the BAOFENG attractive price but ideally I’d get a dual band mobile with antenna on the bull bar mount

I'm not into this enough to have a recommendation. I found the cheapest price at Gigaparts, though, and they were fast with shipping it.

Just a taste of my weekend on my
First snow run. Awesome times. Only moderate wheel damage, and learned a ton from NorCal Rover Club members.

Fantastic.

Those ARB bumpers look so damn good on the front of an LR4.

Finally received the Gobi. 10 months. But enjoy the magnificent rack on this thing! Everything is top notch. Install smooth and straight forward. Couldn’t be happier with the setup. A few more pieces on the exterior and the transformation is complete!
