Project Winch Install has picked up life again. I think I’ve finally accumulated all the little
Bits and pieces to make this a success.
In my case, I was pretty confident I’d need a longer ground cable to reach near the battery. Ordered one of those. Then realized I needed the synthetic rope fairing spacer kit to push the hawse fair lead out and away from the edges of the bumper. Ordered one of those. Then to bling it up, ordered the super thick Warn fairlead.
But wait, thicker fairlead now requires longer bolts to fit through the spacer kit. Found some of those.
Need to relocate control pack to top of Arb. Drill new holes, find a few more stainless screws and lock nuts.
Small negative leads for control pack no longer reaches winch ground lug. Quick extension and source the proper size ring terminal. Done
Finally able to mate the winch to the bumper. Next stage will be tearing down the front end and figuring out the mounting brackets. Maybe it’ll be done before the Gobi arrives…
Lots of little things here and there to get this going but now I’m getting close.
