Hello everybody,

First post here so please bear with me.

I have been searching for information regarding the 5.0 (SC-N/A) timing chain lever/guide issues and I can't seem to find any straight answers so I turn to you guys.

I have been quoted EUR 2,500 including labour by the local Land Rover garage to fix what is on TOPix mentioned as LTB00474NAS3 (see attachment). But is it enough? I have seen other owners being quoted twice or triple that and with much much more work done to the engine. Should I follow the advice from the local garage or should I go all in and why these massive differences?

Thank you in advance.

First welcome to the forum. I would be happy if they can do this work for that price, but plan on the bill being double that just to make sure. Normally this isn't a cheap fix.

I just had this done at my local LR dealer in North Carolina. All up price was about $6,300 and included replacing the S/C snout. 2012 RR Autobiography w/41K miles. Much quieter now and so glad I got the extended warranty for $3,500 that covered everything!
