At my wits end.
Do I have a 3 ton lump of scrap metal ?
50 miles into my journey (with caravan) with 1/4 tank of diesel I fill up at a Shell garage (£100+).
150 uneventful miles later at about 50/60mph I experience a sudden and dramatic loss of RPM and power. Non responsive to throttle, but does NOT cut out.
I cruise, not coast, to a lay-by where the car ticks over at a low 500rpm (still no throttle response) until I turn the engine off.
Never to start again !!!
Two engineers & auto electrician pick up no significant fault codes.
What we have confirmed.
Fuel good
Lift pump good
Fuel filter good
High pressure pump good.
Pressure in rail good.
Won’t start !?!?
