I recently bought a 2009 LR2 and it is in need of tires. (Yes I did bargain the price down because of this) I am looking for some AT tires for it, and coming to find out they are very hard to find for 19 wheels in the factory size.

So I am leaning towards upping my tires size to 255/55 R19 rather than the factory tire size of 235/55 R19. I am looking for a more rugged AT tire, so I am looking at the Cooper ZEON LTZ tires.

Has anyone upped to this tires size on the LR2? I have done all the measurements I can do, and it seems that there should be plenty of room for them, as they aren't that much bigger, but you never know until you try. Has anyone tried?

Or does anyone know a different rugged AT tire other than this that will fit? (Besides the Pirelli Scorpion ATR, I have heard from many reviews that they aren't great on snow, and I live in Montana, so the tires I get must be good on snow)

Just remember the larger the tire and the harder you play with it the sooner one of your diffs are going to fail, so be gentle with it, it is not a Disco or a Defender off road.

Yeah, I'm not planning on going crazy off-road in it. But here in montana, roads can get pretty rough in the mountains.

Why would tire size effect the diffs?

You can also go down to 255/55-18's. Good selection of AT's, and will match the stock diameter (29") Won't have the issues with weight with the wheel diameter decrease, but they will be slightily wider.

We have up sized the Lr2 tires. Just watch how wide you get.

That's nuts - I'm researching 255/55r19's for my wife LR2. Hers is the same color with the L8 sticker in the same location.

Looks like 255/55 ZEONs unless anyone has any last warnings.

hi,

I have a new 2013 which was an upgrade form the 2012 lease LR2 i had. I would say One of the stipulations of the purchase was I wanted wider tyres.

so on my 19 inch it came with 235/55/19 i upgraded it to 255/50/19. I am going to use these for my winter tyres. I am buying a set of 265/35/R22 for the summer.

I have seen 24 inch with 275/25/R24

But be advised that if you want to do off roading its better to go for smaller rims like a 16 inch
