Left wiper not sweeping all the way

Okay, here's a strange one: I just noticed that my left wiper blade (driver side) isn't sweeping all the way to the left A-pillar (stops about 6 inches shy of the pillar). I could adjust the nut that holds the wiper arm to the motor, but then the wiper will then sit up too high when resting at the bottom of the windshield (looks about right when at rest right now).

Any reason why the left wiper could be stopping the sweep prematurely? The right (passenger) wiper looks right, for what it's worth.

In case this happens to anybody else, the problem ended up being a broken wiper linkeage. Repair was covered by LR dealer under CPO.
