Has anyone chipped and mod the intake/exhaust for more HP? Better yet has anyone looked into a bolt on supercharger? I know that the V8 engines are the same but I was hoping someone has looked into the factory supercharger that they use for the Sport and RR to be bolted onto the LR3.

I'm looking to boost HP to compensate for curb weight.

I know that someone has bolted on a supercharger (Banks type maybe?) but I'm not sure it's going to give you the 95-100 HP that the factory one gives the RR. I have not heard of anyone retro-fitting the factory charger. I have not heard of a successful chipping experience. However, I HAVE heard of an aftermarket Cat-back exhaust system. I think you can find a thread or two on this board about it. That's probably your best route.

I will summarize my opinions:

1. Chipping will probably do more harm than good on this rolling laptop.
2. Bolt-on supercharger would probably not yield much horsepower.
3. Factory supercharger probably not possible for retro-fit.
4. Aftermarket exhaust probably best route for a performance boost.

The European tdi version of the Disco3 is commonly chipped, but I am not aware of a petrol engine chip replacement.

Magnaflow has recently come out with a street and an off road version of their high flow exhaust system for the LR3. The part numbers are elsewhere in this forum.

Borla has an exhaust system for the RRS, which is the same as the LR3, just 10cm shorter but easily extended. Ruins your departure angle though.
