Why not? LR3's have been on just about every hard trail Colorado offers. Also check out Solihul Society, a very active Colorado based LR club.

Well... tires, lack of rear locker, and not a whole lot of experience. Couldnt find a HD model easily decided I could live without. Going to stick to the light/moderate stuff early on.

Tires are definately important, but not the locker. You can do it all without, it just takes a slight bit more finesse. Definately do start out moderate until you learn to spot the line, and learn who in your group can spot for you effectively.
