I have an 08 LR3. Last winter with the OEM Goodyear tires the performance was OK but not stellar. Now with 15K on the tires the performance in snow is scary. Stopping even in the driveway on a half inch of snow is dicey. I got stuck on a boat ramp that just had a dusting even w/o a trailer. No traction at all.
IS this just the tires? Are they just that bad? I have the 18" 255/60 tires. Are dedicated winter tires really necessary for the occasional NE snow storm? Would 235/65 tires be a better choice.
