LR3 Sat Nav DVD Updates

Does anybody know how to get new DVD updates for the LR3 sat nav? Does LR mail them out for free (i doubt it), or do you have to buy the update whenever you need maps updating? if so where do you buy from?

Buy from your parts counter. Of course, don't expect magic... even the latest maps aren't perfect.

If anything like BMW or others, they come out with new ones ever 2 to 3 years and price is normally $200 - $400 depending on the company.

I would expect Rovers to run in the $250 - $350 range.

Wow...you can buy a brand new external NAV system for the cost of the DVD. Oy vey!

Wow.. that is pricey.. Well thanks for the response all. If anyone knows the make/model of the GPS unit I'll hunt for a non-dealership source for the dvd.

The overstock dvds sometimes pop up on ebay. The most recent LR# is: YIW500024 but the ones for sale tend to be older.

There may be a xxx025 out by now but not sure. Good luck!

Other Rosen DVDs will work in the Rover? Cool. Is this just a map database or will we lose some LR features if we buy the disc somewhere else?

Nope. The ones showing up on Ebay are OEM Land Rover/Rosen dvds (though I suspect some are copies) & will only work in 2005-06 Range Rovers/Land Rovers.
