Hi everyone. Well someone scraped my LR3 while it was in a parking garage. Not too bad, only a little more than my deductible, so I decided to pay the bill myself. The rear passenger side door was scratched. They also scraped the plastic fenders above the rear passenger side wheel well (made up of two separate parts)and the door handle on that side. - - The car was supposed to be in the shop on a Tues and out by Thurs. The shop has completed the paint work and are waiting for the trim parts from Land Rover. They were ordered 3 weeks ago and were promised for no later than a week ago. If I knew it was going to take this long I would have waited till the parts were actually in hand before I dropped the car off. - - In the meantime, the meter on my rental car is ticking away. Its gonna cost me more in rental charges than the body work. (Whew, nice to vent a little.) - - - Anyway has anyone else been experiencing problems getting trim parts from Land Rover ? They don't seem to be able to determine where the truck with my parts is. Supposedly they went with a new parts ordering system recently. Also, they mentioned something about filling trucks with gas tanks for the recall and not shipping other parts. - - - Hmmm here I am waiting around again for Land Rover (my vehicle has already spent 30 days in the shop total.) - - - -

I had the same problem when I ran my roof rack full of road bikes into a parking structure and shattered the glass roof and ripped the crossbars and tracks off the roofline. They said the parts would arrive in one week. It took four to finally get everything, after continuously babysitting the body shop and my local dealer's parts dept. Each of whom blamed the other for every delay. Rental car charges topped $970 for a $2000 repair. Weird. --AZSTALZ

Now I know why I use a rear mounted bike rack. :)

Colt, I don't know who your dealer is, and don't want to know, but delaers switched to the new order system in September. The new system may be POS (really, that is the name of it), but it has been operational since then. The two mouldings you mention are available thru LRNA when I checked this A.M. If the parts were lost from a previous order, time to file a claim and reorder. There are also a more than a few dealers US who have your parts on hand.
I'm not here to berate your dealer, but they need to get with the program and get you handled correctly. If it is the way you describe, this is ********. I'm tired of owners treated this way. Push up through the ranks and get your concerns addressed.

Dave, if only all dealers have your attitude, we will all be happy men.
