Since the RR Sport has a dynamic response package im guessing it will be able to outperform the Lr3 in Offroad and onroad situations? Is this correct or is the fancy anti roll bars standard on the LR3? Are their any performance mods for the 4.4 v8? I test drove it and found it to be really really sluggish.

What are you comparing the V8 LR3 to that makes it feel sluggish, an FX-45? Everything is relative. Generally, the 300hp V8 in the LR3 is tops in the category, but it still has to contend with 5600 lbs of weight, plus yourself.

The electronic swaybars in the supercharged Sport are definately an improvement in road side handling. That's the only model that those come in that I'm aware of. I have not driven an SC off road. In theory, with the swaybar uncoupled (as they can be on the SC model via a mode), it should have greater articulation, thus increasing off road ability as well.

You can order Dynamic Response for non-Supercharged RRS models. DR is really designed to assist "on road" performance and not off-road.

LR3 is heaviest in class, and the RRS isn't far behind. Don't expect miracles.

If you want more power and don't need the utility of the LR3, get a Supercharged RRS... it's 1 whole second faster 0-60 and you'll feel better. If you want a sports car, buy a sports car.

Maybe because im currently driving a Qx56 is why i feel the non Sc RR Sport and Lr3 feel sluggish. I wish i could afford the 70+k RR Sc (which does the 1/4 in the same time as my Qx btw) but i cant. Maybe if i drive a brand new car it might feel a little different but on the test drive both cars felt extremely sluggish. I'm not looking for a sports car here but i at least would like the car to accelrate when i call for acceleration. One last question can you manually dis engage the roll bar on the Lr3? Thanks for answering my question and hopefully i will be posting on this forum as a RR sport or Lr3 owner.

i haven't driven a RRS, but the service techs at my dealership commented that even the non SC models feel significantly quicker than the LR3.

i'm happy with my LR3 quickness...now that i'm used to it. initially i missed the grunt of my old dodge 5.9L (big low throaty power...not this high rev stuff of smaller enginers.) :)

...and you're right. its all relative!

I also drive a Armada (QX sibiling) so I know what you mean. Off the line, the Armada is amazing, but the passing speed isn't as good as the LR3, and the LR3's top end drive handling is way better.

I don't think the sway bars on the LR3 come with a disconnecting option, but it's very easy to fit manual disconnects to the front sway bars, like the Jeep guys do. Same part actually, you just need a slightly longer rod.

I know the Qx and Armada are quicker off the line but they will keep the pace all the way to a limited speed of 114(governor kicks in at 114 becuase of tires). If you seen the dyno numbers for the Armada it only has about 14% driveline loss. THat would make it the most efficient drivetrain IN THE WORLD but that seems a bit far fetched so most people have come to the conclusion that these cars are REALLY underrated. Especially the 04's the 4wd were only like 5300 lb's.(2006 added more crap so its like 5600 lb's) THe 2004 Qx did a 0-60 in 6.8 and 1/4 mile in 15.2s(motortrend). Where can i purchase an anti roll bar disconnecter?

I get tired of people saying to "buy a sports car" when the very legitimate criticism of the acceleration of an LR3 is made. Face it, our LR3's are the slowest in their class. They are too heavy, the lbs/hp ratio sucks. Wanting brisk acceleration in your premium luxury SUV is not unreasonable to me. I am not talking gut churning torque like my Ford GT, I am just talking not being the bottom in your class. Trust me, I have a sports car and I do not expect that from my LR3. What I do expect is to step on the gas and be able to merge easily into oncoming traffic.

Regards
