drove my lr4 in cape cod this summer with the pirelli scorpion atr at 18psi all around and had all kinds of trouble until i remembered to turn off dsc....sand is really all about the tire, just going to an 18 inch wheel makes a huge difference, the more sidewall you have to deflate the more tire surface you have to float on....
in addition you gotta be in 4 lo, sand mode, manually choose the right gear don't keep in drive, and suspension in hi mode, do all this and maintain momentum and you will do fine.....i bet the cooper tires will do a bit better than the scorpions.......and maybe a bit less pressure in the rear would help even more....
