Hey I live at the foot of the Rockies and sometimes only get 10 days a year. The difference is every one of them is quality (ie. boot-knee deep fresh pow) or I really can't be bothered.

No fresh snow? Dirtbike on studs or cross country skiing.

Get a low profile box like Skiguard. Hardly notice it’s up there and very streamlined unlike most of the normal options. Four pairs of skis inside a car and poles is a serious hazard if you get in an accident or even an emergency braking situation.

Not if they are in a proper skibag and secured using the LR4s fabulous cargo d rings. All unsecured cargo is a potential hazard.
