First thing is I know this is not a long term fix, I just need a few months until I can flush fluids, install new filter and a zip kit, but…..
LR4 146k miles on original fluids. Standard 2k rpm fluctuation and a shudder in the transmission on slow acceleration up to about 40mph.
I just used two units of Instant Shudder Fix and instantly my RPM fluctuation and transmission shudder are gone. I read a lot of posts on other vehicles of the success rate and the theory that if the product works longer term your issues are probably fluid related not mechanical. Remains to be seen.

I purchased at Napa for about $14 each.
This was a parking lot job, I didn’t want to open the fill port and risk dumping fluid and I’m not sitting under it while running without jack stands. I unhooked the transmission line up by the radiator and injected it into the line in about 10 min.
I purchased 1/2” I’d tubing and a 3/8 x 1/4 barb fitting, two hose clamps as well as two 60cc syringes and some harbor freight line clamps. At 2oz each I was able to dump the product into the syringes and have them ready.
My transmission shudder and RPM fluctuation are both fully resolved for the time being. Will report back.
Steps:
- Remove the small front skid plate by removing the main skid plate front 13mm bolts and two 10mm bolts.
- Assemble the fitting contraption
-Apply a line clamp to the passenger side transmission line (you may not need to do this but I was in a parking lot on 4th of July I didn’t want to risk losing fluid)
- Load the fluid into the syringes
- Inset the plug into the fitting contraption (could have used my finger) and quickly remove the line and install the contraption. I lost a few drops of fluid.
- Inject the fluid slowly and repeat plugging the line in between.
- Remove the contraption and quickly reinstall the line (lost a few drops)
- Remove the clamp
- Start and ensure no leaks
- Reinstall the skid plate
