Hi, I posted a couple of days ago about a problem I was having. Joey told me to unplug the MAF and drive it for a day. I did and all was good so I purchased a new one. The MAF arrived today so I installed it and drove around town for about 15min. and the engine still is stalling on take-off. I stoped and unplugged the MAF and its running fine again. This sounds like a simple fix. Please help. 2000 Disco2 63k miles. Thanks ahead.

That is very odd, with the MAF sensor unplugged, this normally indicates the existence of a bad MAF if the issues clear up.

If the air filter was real dirty, the only other thing I can think of is the butterfly in the intake manifold is extremely dirty. Remove the air hose going to the intake after the MAF, and clean it with a rag or even spray with some carb cleaner. Then reattach everything and see if that helps.

Would I need to get the SES light reset to clear up anything? I plugged it back in and drove around awhile earlier with no problems. Maybe its ok. But the light is still on for now.

I would check the codes just to make sure, but it should not effect how it runs if the issue is gone... the SES will actually clear itself after so many cycles if the issue has been resolved.
