Looking at selling our 2010 LR4 Lux plus HD - only 57,500 Miles

Santorini Black Metallic paint, virtually no wear on the black leather interior with piano black finishes. Has heated front and second row seats, heated steering wheel, NAV, Bluetooth, DVD package with headrests monitors has remote control, memory seats and steering wheel, interior accent lighting, driver/passenger and rear climate controls, HID headlights, 5 exterior cameras, refrigerator in the arm rest, heated front and back windshields, etc. Also equipped with HD Package. Comes with Land Rover roof rack rails and Land Rover trailer hitch.

We bought it in 2018 with 36,000 miles from an insurance auction, it was involved in an accident resulting in damage to the passenger side doors, no airbags deployed. Both passenger doors and the lower outer rocker panel were replaced with Land Rover parts. So it does have Salvage history. Current TN Title is clean with no brands. No noise from the timing chains, been doing 5k oil changes.

So wondering what the market is right now? I’m thinking $21k to $22k due to the salvage history?
Let me know if you think.

Thanks, Rob

I’ve been on a market for a vehicle like yours for quite some time, so I may not be disinterested party. However, if the timing chains/coolant system etc has not been done, I feel 21-22k is an insanely high price for a salvaged vehicle. For the reference, I passed on a 28k mi LR4 at the dealer in Florida that my wife didn’t like the color of. That was a 2011 model and nearly a brand new example and I could’ve gotten it for 23k all in. I also passed on a 2012 one locally that was a one-owner car and had 67k mi on the clock and was being sold for $14k. That one had a crusty undercarriage being in NH and I don’t do well with rust.
I guess what I’m trying to say is, there are clean low mileage examples out there for reasonable money. I don’t see why anyone would pay the high market price for a salvage title car like yours. It is impossible to finance and you may have headaches down the road if you were to sell it.
Sorry to be a negative Nelly but you’ve asked for opinion and here’s mine. I hope it sells and goes to a good home, it sure is nice.

$20k is probably where you'd be for a no accident history, even with the HD pack. The 10-12s get a LOT less money than 13s and 14-16s, add on a salvage history and it's unfortunately not the best situation. If you were selling Summer '21, you'd get over $20 easily but we aren't at that time anymore.

You need to find someone who wants a black over black and HD pack, who's an enthusiast and can check out/doesnt care about the accident history bc that person values the low miles and option packages, and is looking for a good deal.

There’s a guy on NY/NJ Facebook Marketplace that’s been trying to sell white/arabica ‘13 with 60k mi that had gotten salvaged because it overheated. He did head gaskets, cooling system and timing chains once all of it was apart. He started at 20k and he’s down to 17k now with no bites, had been trying to sell it for months. It’s a beautiful combo and low miles with everything done but no bank will finance it and the risk of warped block is still present, so people (myself including) passed on it.
You will really need to find someone who a) wants this combo b) has cash on hand and c) doesn’t care about salvage title and is in it long term. I’m afraid it’s a minority of car buyers and they will not pay the top price you’re asking.

@TN Rover in my biased humble opinion, if the truck is spotless and cooling system/timing chains done, it’s worth $15k, tops and that would have to be to a dedicated enthusiast with cash ready. If above not done, this is a $10k truck at best. In no way I’m implying you should use these numbers as a guide, but that would be my logic when making the deal. Like I said, I’ve been tracking these for an about two years now, looking for the “right one”.

It depends. 13s and 14-16s go for significantly more due to the perceived timing chain "upgrade." Clean trucks will full service history go for good amounts, too. They're not going for what they were 2 years ago, but the prices have definitely gone up from before COVID and the "overland-y SUV" trend run up.
