Nav / Radio Problem (software Gone?)

My 2003 Range Rover NAV screen (RADIO, OBC, NAV, etc) won't come on. The radio is on, but the screen displays 2 sentences in spnish stating "se requiere cargar software" and I can't remember the 2nd sentence (something about por favor cd-rom correspondiente). Any Ideas? It is almost as if the main radio / nav system software is gone.

I went to the dealer today and the GPS Unit (where the disc goes) is shot. They took one out of another car, installed it in mine, and it started working fine. A new GPS unit is only $1900! At that rate, I wonder if I am in the wrong business =)
