I had a very similar situation. I believe there is a very simple fix. Start the car & press on the breaks. See if the tail lights & break lights work. if they do not it is a simple fix. the same fuse that controls the brake light controls the brake pedal release for the celanoid release pin to remove the car from park. If you have ever been to a Land Rover off road event & the instructor talks of this pin (i.e. always on an incline to use your parking brake)... check your fuse under the stering wheel column & replace if blown. If this is not it & you need to move the car to the service bay, or to go get a fuse, you can pull straight up on the shifter knob it will release the plunger the pull up on the shifter console surround (plastic molding that has gear insignia P R N D 3 2 1 & mode button. Below this you will see the celanoid to release the Park Pin you can manually push in the pin to release the car from Park. note it takes 2 hands... keep you foot on the brake
