Anyone knows price and compatability of the new Black Lacquer wood trim package that is available OEM for the '06 LR3s!? My '06 HSE was a Reflections package which came with the OEM attaching Dark Grey Bird's Eye Maple that I hate so the new Black Lacquer trim that is replacement (not stick on) is a very attractive option but my dealer (Anaheim, CA) doesn't know anything about it!

I have a 2006 LR3 HSE and would like to get the same kit. Did you ever get any headway on this?

Try calling these guys. If it can still be ordered they will get it. If you want black lacquer, you can always just buy a replacement set of plain plastics and have them painted professionally. That would probably only run you $200-300 and give you other color options.

BTW-I call dibs on your dark burl trim if/when you replace it. Please PM with a price.

Look at this thread and PM Nick (The Large One) for a price including shipping:

http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic21903.html

It's approximately $180 with the current exchange rate, shipping may cost 60 - 70, but I found it cheaper than ordering around here (So Cal)

Have you bought anything from him before? I wouldn't recommend it, but I'm just one bad experience. The guys in Europe seem to like him.

Most of the dealers in Southern CA were ordering the black wood for the Black interior HSE's with the luxury package. I wanted the more natural looking wood, so had to get it from a Northern CA dealer. The gloss was just too high on the black wood for my taste - made it look more like plastic than wood to me. Here's a couple shots of the 08 wood on black interior on an HSE with lux package.

Is this a "glue on" deal like the other (veneer) wood trim package?

I am not very happy with mine. It is always loose and in general just not a very good product in terms of form, fit, function.

NO! This is original installed - flush with the rest. Very clean. Don't like the "Lee Press-On" wood. Agree with you on that. :dito:

Who installs it? Owner-installed, vendor-installed? Dealer-installed??? I have been giving the dealer $hit for 3 years and made them re-adhere those damn pieces several times. I may have enough leverage to get this out of them....maybe.

We were at the dealer yesterday for warranty stuff and I saw an '08 with some molded wood-look accents. Looked quite plasticky. The vents were shined up as well but finish was similar a to chromed plastic. Nice touch but didn't have that quailty material look.

Nothing beats the CNC machined american made aluminum for a quality look.

I think we'll try to incorporate some fine leathers or real wood/real wood veneers to finish off the interior.

The H-Trim kit (either black or natural wood) are user-installable. You have to modify the dash behind the H-Trim, to fit the new H-Trim properly. It simply requires cutting a hole on both sides of the H-Trim frame to allow the new panels to sit flush. You also have to replace the panel that holds your lock/unlock, and warning(hazard) buttons,as the new trim requires a squared off panel, instead of the rounded panels found in pre08 models.
