This is my first landrover and I am hoping to save it from the junkyard and keep my house at the same time. I received a 2002 freelander with the 2.5 gasoline engine. Its current condition was mechanically not running. In need of timing belts and not firing. Given my research on how they were interference engines, I may have jumped the gun too soon but purchased an engine with the same vin series with 11,*** miles on it. I replaced the engine, replaced the Crank position sensor, and ECU (Which I had coded to the security code by ECU technologies). Unfortunately, now with all of this being completed, the vehicle still doesn't fire. I have cycled through all 4 positions on the flexplate/flywheel with the old ECU, but yet to with this new one. That is in the plans for this weekend. I am curious and hopeful that someone on this forum may have some insight as to what may be my hidden culprit. All fuses have been checked and the engine turns over fine with no codes being present since reset with the engine install. I have not tampered with any relays or any other electrical connections outside of the ECU, Fuses, and connectors for the engine install.
