I don't have the luxury of the Free maintenance through Land Rover because we are US Military stationed in Germany. Apparently there is fine print to say that even though we purchased through Land Rover North America that we are not entitled to it. A regular maintenance/oil change at a german LR Dealership costs us 400Euro minimum (bringing your own oil). Hence the DIY when we can.

Any whoo, prior to my husband deploying to Iraq for 15 months he performed my 24 month maintenance (10,000 miles) oil change. We ordered a Cabin Air Filter but could not figure out where it goes.

How many diffferent types of Air Filters are in my LR3?

I am aware of the regular Air Filter located in the bonnet/engine compartment area and just last night discovered the filter located behind the glove compartment.

However, I ordered a Purolator Cabin Air Filter from JCWhitney because it said it was a custom-fit product but I don't know where it goes and it is 5x's the size of the filter located behind the glove compartment.

Did I get dooped by JC Whitney? or is this an actual filter I need somewhere?

I know I now need to order the filter for behind the glove compartment just do not know what to call it?

Any guidance on the proper terms and names of filters I need to order would be great!

where you at? i spent some time in frankfurt, baumholder, and koln a few years ago. When I was there in 02, our dollar was actually worth something, so the local shops were great. Try altantic british for all your parts. Ebay UK sells these common items for dirt prices if you can deal with that. Good Luck, and stay away from JC Whitney.

We are currently in Bamberg, but spent the last 4 years in Wiesbaden. The dollar sucks real bad. $1.60 to the 1 Euro. I have checked out Atlantic Britishand it seems like they really know what they are doing.

I still don't understand how many air/pollen/cabin/particulate filters I need for my 06' LR3.

Form the forums, I have learned to stay away from K&N because of the oil build-up and I understand I need to change my pollen filter every 12 months or so, but is the cabin filter the same as the pollen filter and the particulate filter? Or are these all different filters I need to replace? The owner's manual only goes so far, then I have to leave it to you LR guru's to get me through the rest.

Thanks for the reply.

From what I know there is only 1 cabin filter. So basically there is 1 cabin filter and of course 1 air filter. Im not sure about whatever JC Whitney was selling but I know for sure that it is not really a top notch company, especially for vehicles like these. Their stuff is pretty *****. Stick with Atlantic British for your needs. I spent some time in Weisbaden but mostly only to visit the PX, Hanau was mostly off the economy. In 02 the dollar was .75 to 1 Euro, so we were living it up.
