Newbie with creaky suspension

New guy here Some good info on here. Just bought an 06 RRS SC with 41K miles.

Question:
I hear some substantial "creaking" noise under the front at low speeds when going over speed bumps or really any bump that requires the suspension to shift. I believe I isolated where it's coming from. I found that when pushing the front-end down and letting it bounce up I can see what is moving. I'm not familiar with some of the parts names but it's where there seems to be bushings with the front arms that attach to the shocks. I took some good silicone spray and applied it where I found that the sound was coming from. I pushed/pulled the front end up and down and finally the nosie went away. However, when I drive I still hear the heavy creaking noise when the suspension shifts.

I hope my description isn't too vague. Any help would greatly be appreciated.

Welcome to the forum... IIRC (If I Remember Correctly) there was a TSB (Technical Service Bulletin) concerning this and the fix was to grease the bushings.

Great! Thanks. I tried looking for the TSB but had a little trouble and couldn't pinpoint it. Which bushings did I need to grease by the way?

With the age and mileage on your truck, any and all bushing could be on the way out. I would worry about TSB's start replacing bushings as needed along with tie rod ends, shocks and possible broken springs.

Nice. I took my RRS into a local RR specialist and just received the verdict. I need new sway bar links and two other bushings. Couldn't recall where the latter bushings were but they were about $40 a piece according to the parts guy I spoke to. The sway bar links are about $30 a piece. 2.5 hrs labor and parts are going to be around $300 and some change. Not that bad I suppose. He also mentioned that his techs recommended that I replace the sway bar....that has a piston? Not sure if it was the sway bar but all I remember was the $1800 price tag he quoted on the parts alone. I asked him to go ahead and order the parts for the bushings and sway bar links and do the work. He stated that this work might just be the fx to my "creaking" problem. Crossing fingers....

It was the sway bar end links both needed to be replaced. 30 bux a piece. Thank God.
