Hey BigArt - load index looks a little low... I believe you should be running at least 112, and these (at least via the auction) appear to be 108. Otherwise, I have no experience with them, so nothing else usefull to add!

I called a trustworthy tire guy, and that's exactly what he said. He highly recommended the Kumho Road Venture APT KL51 tires. I'll see if I can find these cheaper than about $130/each. I'm pretty anxious to get rid of the crappy Good Years.

I have the Nexen Roadians. They have less than 10k miles on them, and I'm very happy with them. Road noise is minimal and the drive is good. Admittedly, my main consideration in getting them was the price. They were a little more than $100 each with installation. The tire guy who I go to and trust gave these a thumbs up. I don't think these tires are really meant for off roading, but I did take them for a light off the pavement spin a few months back and they were fine. As gtc mentions, the speed rating is lower than the stock Goodyears, but I don't feel comfortable taking my LR3 above 85mph.

it's the numerical LOAD index rating, not the alpha speed rating (W,X,H), mentioned above. How much weight the tire can handle, not how much top speed it is rated for. Very important that the tires can handle the car's max gross weight, or could be dangerous if a tire fails to carry your load at any speed!
