I own a 1996 Disco and the oil light comes on only when Ideling and the AC is
turned on. If I turn off the AC the oil light goes out. Also, this problem only occurs
when the engine is ideling in gear (auto trans.) or in park. Seems like the oil sending
unit may be bad or a bad connection. What do you think ? Where ar the plug connectiors
located for the sending unit ?

Also, where is the Oil Logic unit or computer located ? I'd like to clean the connections andif the problem does not go away then I'll unplug the unit until I replace the sending unit.
Hopefully a good cleaning will resolve my issue. The flashing light bugs the devil
out of me.
Thank you.

fyi, this is my first Rover and I love it, also own a 1994 Nissan 300Zx Twin Turbo with
stage 5 mods........525rwhp.

Sounds more to me like the oil pick up tube in the oil pan is partially clogged. I would start by dropping the oil pan, cleaning out the sludge and cleaning the pickup tube.

It will only get worse.

Problem is this issue only occurs when the AC is turned on and it goes away when AC
is turned off. Sliding the AC of kills the light instantly, so I doubt the oil pick up tube would be the culprit.

I think the connectors or the wires could be the problem. Corroded connector or breaks in the wires. Where are the connection locations ? I know they are near the oil pan but I'm
not familiar with the Disco. Also where is the oil logic unit, one website I checked said it was under the dash, but I did not see a black box with 3x3x1 measurements, so it must be there, just not sure exactly where. Does anyone know the location ?

Oil pressure switch is just about the oil filter, the only plug right about the filter IIRC.

But either way, I would put money on the pick up tube.
