Disco '98 Series I. Oil pressure light come on when I brake or when engine is not accelerating - occurs every time it goes for a run at 65 miles/p/hr or more. Any ideas as to the cause?

Do a search for "pickup tube", and get ready to get dirty.

It's possible that you have:
(1) A faulty sensor
(2) Dying oil pump
(3) Clogged pickup tube in the oil sump

You can try popping off theoil pan and checking the pickups, but most likely it's you front cover (oil pump). I have a 98 LSE and I had the same problem. The pickups were checked first, then a day later, and a lot of tapping, I was back for a USED pump. 5 months later, (and $500 lighter) engine runs great.
