I had code p-1450 set on my 2003 Discovery II and have been unable to find any information for this code. Any help would be appreciated.

Either can I . I would go back and recheck the code number. Is your truck running bad?

p-1450

Thanks for the interest, funny you should ask if then rover is running bad, this is the first time in 10 years that I got 360 miles out of a tank of gas. It has always run very good and still does. I rechecked the code and it is the same.

Joey, can you tell me where you found that. I again went thru 6 or 7 other fault code charts and still can't find that for a Rover, did find it for Ford's, BMW's and a few other vehicles though.

A year ago I had a code P-1453, and I found some vague description similar to this code, I removed the valve on the inside frame rail in the center of the vehicle and took it apart, there was a gasket sealer that had shrunk and the ends were not mating, also the material looked like it had come apart. I put 12 volts to the motor and it would not turn. So I took the motor out of the plastic housing and turned the shaft by hand, it seemed very hard to turn for such a small motor, so I took the impeller out of the housing and cleaned it with air flow sensor cleaner. Put it back and tested the motor again, this time you could hear a definite suction noise out of the pump, I cleaned the housing parts of old seal material and sealed it with "The Right Stuff " which is a silicone. Put the valve back on the vehicle and no more problems. I did notice that when I would gas up there was pressure in the fuel tank, which had never been there before. Now I have a P-1450, which is pretty close to P-1453, so I think I will take the valve off again and see if the impeller is stuck again. I will let you know...

Thanks Joey, that is a handy site.
I believe what they are talking about has to do with the Evap, system and not getting a good reading. I would suggest you do a search in the Rave under engine management and search out evap codes and issues.
