....hmmm. Now if it came in 3' ROLLS (like Saran Wrap) and could easily be dispensed and then removed and disposed of, it could be a solution. I'm thinking about the sides of the car....the doors and such. They seem to get the brunt of the "pin striping" effect.

I'm not cool with magnetic because if it catches and drags it could be worse than a branch. ....that said, the hood doesn't concern me so much because it's the overgrown brush on the side of the trails that scuff up my doors that I want to protect myself from.

To the original poster, I find that branch scratches down the side aren't nearly as bad as they first look. Use the 3 step Meguiars treatment (Deep Crystal System Paint cleaner, Deep Crystal system Polish and then wax) and you'll probably won't be able to see anything except if you look really close. That always worked for me.

broiler, I agree....I use Zaino Z5 but same idea; they fade considerably and you have to hunt them down from within 1 foot to see them; which is why they don't bother me that much. I guess I'm envisioning "the big one" that results in a scuff that I can't get out.

...then again in that case a little plastic covering isn't gonna help. You're right, I'll just stick with the polish & elbow-grease and not sweat it!
