today at the dealer getting some parts so my new used 98' Landy will pass MD inspection....
talking to the parts guy - he said there is not a website wher e one could get part numbers for there vehicles (like a online parts manual ..... is there one?)- I had asked because I have to be in control at all times and I want to be the idiot that screws up getting the wrong parts not the guy behind the counter. .. and because most D1 owners do their own work - he said he had talked to his IT guy about setting up a site where us D1's could look up our parts in the factory parts manual... without purchasing a parts manual - -but he said he just hasnt had the time - - - I have been trying to think of a way to help this happen but my brain isnt giving me anything - any suggestions? (my first thought is that to get the manual he has behind the counter scanned into a PDF form - (but what about copywrite?).
I also asked about the reliablity of the D1's 2's and 3's - he didnt say much about the 3's (still to early to know, i guess) but he did say that the d2's have 'sh!#@y' spark plug caps (my moms D2 had to have new plug wires put on) and that he keeps 10 sets on hand at all time and that they get carbon buildup on the valves (I'm not imply they are not a good car). Now the D1 - "the only time we see a D1, is when it is completely neglected, for the most part they are bullet proof." Which I know doesnt mean its a honda ( although there was the crossroads) but it reasurred me. So I would like to give a big shout out to Joey, Moose and other experienced Landy's that helped me decide on a D1 - I think that was the best fit for me. Thanks alot guys and thanks RWO!!.
again thanks
Chris
