WHERE DO I BUY THIS CRADLE FROM? LR is no help. Telling me discontinued. Apparently it works with my phone.

Anyone have one they would be willing to sell?

What model is that for? Try asking customer service?

There was a rumor updated cradles would appear sometime this quarter, but who knows.

As far as I can tell the XVE500070 was not produced. It is listed in some literature, but I've never heard of it being releaed due to software issues that the whole cradled phone program was having. I am told that this is one of the reasons the phone program switched to all Bluetooth.

I asked around and agree that XVE500070 probably never shipped. Maybe an equivalent will exist in the near future?

Rover seems to be having pretty good success with the Bluetooth Program. With all of the different brands, and styles and of phones, I'd have a hard time beleiving that they will go back to the cradle setup.

The factory PTI system currently has far more features "cradled." Yes, it works over Bluetooth... but it really is more limited than almost any 3rd party kit I've seen. But, you are right, LR/Nokia could just give up.

Here is a feature summary I posted elsewhere...

Factory PTI over Bluetooth is fairly basic:

1) Obviously, answer and drop phone calls.
2) Store and dial voice tags and phone numbers in the LR3's voice recognition system.
3) Dial "live" by speaking the phone number.
4) Dial phone numbers (or generate touchtones) using the keypad on the radio head unit.
5) See the phone number of the caller on the stereo head unit (not the name).

If you have a phone connected via cradle (not Bluetooth), you gain:

1) Browse your actual phonebook and calling log via the radio head unit.
2) Display the name of the caller on the display (if entered in your phonebook.)
3) Display signal strength.
4) Charge your phone.
5) External antenna.
6) Turn off your phone from the head unit.
7) Call Waiting support. (Answer 2nd call and switch between them using PTI controls.)

You actually can do #7 (Call Waiting) over Bluetooth if you swap the call on your phone. My radio display shows the 2nd call coming in but I cannot use the LR controls to swap the call. If I pull out my phone, I can swap successfully.

I bought a cradle for the Nokia 3589i which has a power and an antenna cable. I may try retrofitting it to work the the LR3. I will let you know if it works. Then we will have a VERIZON cradle phone solution.

Yes, it can work using the handset... but it's unsupported and can cause the system to get confused. LR recommends disabling Call Waiting when using BT.

I guess it would be possible to hack/retrofit in power and use the external antenna for your Nokia cradle... but you definitely won't be able to use the hardwired PTI functions.

The call swapping works perfectly on my Treo 650 using the handset to do the swap. The only thing I notice is the radio screen leaves the 2nd phone number up even after the call ends...

As far as the hack/retrofit, why don't you think the PTI functions would not work especially if it is a NOKIA cradle with the antenna and phone connection cables coming off?

Also - When I get the Nokia 3589i (just ordered), I will see if per chance it fits Cradle #3????
