I just purchased a new LR3 and would like to use a Verizon Wireless cell phone connected via a cradle so that I may use the vehicles' installed cell phone antenna. I have been advised by the Automotive Wireless folks that there are is no cradle to connect a Verizon phone to the LR3. Has anyone encountered this problem? Has anyone found a solution? Does anyone want to join me as we lobby LR for a resolution?
You will probably think I am crazy, but I have a workaround. I bought the Nokia 6230 from nokia.com with the 1500 non-rollover plan from Cingular. The phone is free, the plan is $50/month.
I continue to use my Verizon Treo 650, but cradle my Cingular Nokia. As soon as I get in my truck, I use the Verizon call forwarding feature so all of my verizon calls are forwarded to my Cingular phone. When I leave the truck, I turn forwarding off.
2 phone bills, but Full usage of integrated phone system.
