How do you crack open the seat switch? I'm just replacing the plate that had a busted clip, and I need to get the little "seat shaped" switches off.
Are they pressed on? Can I just pop them off by prying them?

Thanks!

Just a note of warning. Do not attempt to open the switch box it self. Is is full of little springs and metal pieces that will not go back together.

If you're really careful, you can take the top of the seat switch and remove all the springs and ball bearings to clean all the contacts. My seat switches didn't work correctly when I bought my Disco, but after cleaning all the carbon off the contacts they work fine. There's a ball bearing at the base of each spring, and another balanced on top. If you take your time, you can snap the cover back on after reassembly without any problems. Beats paying big bucks for new seat switches.

Yes, I did the same thing. I found that a "dab" of vasoline on the bb's helps hold it in place along with the springs.

I did get into the guts of it, after my mild victory of prying the switches off, and yes it was a spring and bearing explosion all over the place. I did manage to recreate the "spring sandwich" that went off in my face, after cleaning the contacts. It works! But what a ***** to reassemble! It's like that old game "Operation",

"it takes a steady hand..."

The only reason I had to replace the seat switch plate in the first place was because it is located in the same place that my knuckles go when I'm fastening my seatbelt!!
