I just installed the prospeed ladder on a 2016 LR4 - Now I am needing to push the tailgate up to get full lift.

I double checked, and there is not any interference between the ladder and the roof/tailgate.

Anyone else had this issue?

Is there a stronger lift strut that fits, and that you have installed?

Perhaps I missed something on the install? Any advice?

Thanks!

Struts are wearable parts and go bad with time. They are just weak and could not handle the extra weight of the ladder. I believe new set will solve your issue.
I have MY13 and recently I have to push the liftgate up to get full lift eventhough I do not have any extra weight.

Buy MaxPow from Amazon
The tailgate on my LR3 now almost hits me in the face (it calmed down a bit after a while)

"Max Power, he's the man whose name you'd love to touch
But you mustn't touch, his name sounds good in your ear
But when you say it, you mustn't fear
'Cause his name can be said by anyone."
- Homer

That name again is MaxPow

I have the same issue but it is not terrible. Maybe in a couple years I will get new struts, but it stays up when I want it to.

I had the same issue with my Prospeed ladder when it was installed 3yrs ago and bought 2 new struts at the same time. No issues with added weight of the ladder.

Thanks All

I checked out Maxpro on Amazon and found that they have struts to fit the 2013 LR4 but nothing listed for the 2014-2016 LR4.

Does anyone know if there is a difference in this part between 2013 and 2016?

I can't imagine they would be different.

This is a pretty old thread. Everyone still happy with those Maxpros? Any better choices out there? I recently installed a Prospeed ladder and need new struts.
