range rover p38 gearbox prob

whilst sitting idle the message board popped up saying gearbox overheating i have read the hand manual, which wasn't very helpful. i had a look underneath but seems ok, drove home a few miles still ok turned ignition off and on message had gone.

any ideals will be great

I would check the fluid level, to make sure you are not low on fluid, other than that it may just be a sensor fault.
