remove and replace ignition switch and cyclinder

any body have any experience removing and replacing the ignition switch assembly on a discovery1? It looks pretty stright forward except the 2 bolts that hold it on the steering colume. How do you get them off?

Not sure if you pulled it off yet but use a small pair of vice grips, the bolts are threaded and will spin out. might get a little chewed up but i did it a few hours ago. The question i have is can i use the wiring from my rovers ignition on the lock cylinder out of my buddies rover mine is a 97 his is a 98. the wiring from the cylinder to the fuse panel is the tricky part.
