I'm tired of the lack of tire options on my LR3. 19"AT's are few and far between (and very expensive). I thought that if I could find an 18" or 17" set of rims I could have a wider choice of tires to chose from. Are there any rims in the 17" 0r 18" size with the same lug pattern as the OEM's that will fit on an LR3?

18is as small as you can go with the v8 I know one guy who trimmed the brake calaper to fit 17" steel wheels but that is down under. you can get the MTR in a 19" rim

The TDIV6 diesel (foreign market) and V6 Petrol (USA market) LR3's have smaller rotors in front (same calipers are the V8) and can fit 17" wheels. In fact, in some countries the 17" wheel is standard on the lower spec versions. If you have the smaller rotor in the front, there is an Australian company that makes and aftermarket off road wheel, or the Land Rover OEM wheel is nice too, but way expensive!

Ok, but what about the rest of us who want 18" and don't want to pay the price for OEM 18" wheels?

I got nothing for 18" rims, other than Houm's blingers.

I would watch ebay close, I have seen them go for 400-600 for a set of 4
also check craigs list. I have heard x5 rims fit.
not much for aftermarket - redbourns but they are more than OEM;
see if a dealer will trade you your 19" rims for 18" rims.
I would just run the MTR on the 19" rim that would be a better combo than what you can get on the 18" in my opinion. Ya a little less sidewall but excellent traction.
I have been half tempted to trade for the 19" rims and put on the MTR It just sucks the tire is not cheap. I know guys who have gotten 50k on a set.

I have been tempted to buy up a bunch of 18" rims since it is no longer an option and sell them off in a year but I can't do that to my fellow LR brothers.

I do watch ebay, craigslist etc.. I have a ongoing RSS feed that will notify when the are being sold.

I am interested if you can elaborate more on why I should be happy w/ my 19" and MTRs?

I just get a tempered sweat when I see $313 on tirerack.com..

yeah I get it, they look AWESOME! I wish it wasn't $1500 every 50k miles..

I actually have the pic in my "things to get the land rover" folder

If anyone else can come up with a rim that can fit 18" offroad tires on a LR3, that is less than going for OEM 18" and 18" offroad tires.. I would make my day. really.
